Dr. Ofelia Cervantes Villagómez obtained a bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla (UDLAP), a Master's of Science in Computer Systems from l'École Supérieure en Informatique in Grenoble, France, and a Ph.D in Computer Science from l´Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France.
Dr. Cervantes has large experience as professor, researcher and consultant in the areas of Data Science, Smart Cities, Semantic Analysis, Social Networks, Human-Computer Interaction, Automatic Speech Processing and Business Intelligence. She was president of the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence (SMIA) and president of the Mexican Association for International Education (AMPEI).
Dr. Cervantes-Villagómez is still active in teaching and research at EDUPROTEC, A.C., Center for Educational Innovation and Social Inclusion. She is also the Executive Coordinator of the US-Mexico Curriculum Internationalization Program of AMPEI. Since 2002, Dr. Cervantes is also Honorary Consul of France in Puebla.
